Coastail Fly is an exciting outdoor adventure

Here are a few tips for a perfect experience

What to bring

  • Polarized sunglasses (amber lenses)

  • Appropriate clothing depending on the season. Layers are needed during the winter as it gets cold on the water.

  • Closed shoes and lightweight fishing pants are ideal (horseflies can be annoying)

  • Brimmed hat / Baseball cap

  • Waterproof gear in case of weather (rain jacket/pants)

  • Sunscreen

Gear

  • All rods, reels, flies, lures, leaders, and tippets will be provided whether fly fishing or spin casting

  • If you decide to bring your own gear, 8, 9, or 10 wt weight rods will work great

The following three hotels are excellent options if you'd like to stay in the city and enjoy what New Orleans has to offer.

Chalmette

The following hotel is the best option if fishing is your only concern as it is outside New Orleans and the closest hotel to where we will be fishing.
