Q. Can i go on a guided charter if i don’t know how to fly fish?

A. Absolutely! Captain John can teach you the basics of fly fishing as long as the weather permits or you can use conventional fishing gear if you prefer.

Q. What will we catch?

A. This depends on the time of year our guided charter takes place. Species include: Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Jack Crevalle, Speckled Trout.

 

Q. What do i need to bring?

A. Check out the “Info” page to see what will be necessary for your trip. We recommend that you also bring lunch/snacks/drinks as we will be on the water for at least 8 hours. Water and ice will be provided.

 

Q. Where can I stay?

A. We recommend that you stay near New Orleans as we will be meeting in Chalmette. See hotel recommendations on the “Info” page. I will pick you up if you are staying near the launch.

 

Q. How does payment work?

A. You will be charged a $100 deposit before your trip begins. Final payment is due the day of the trip.

Q. What time do the charters begin?

A. Charters begin between 7am-8am and you will most likely need to leave your hotel at least an hour in advance.

Q. What type of rods do you recommend?

A. 8-12 Wt. depending on species.

Q. How many people can join the charter?

A. The skiff can hold a total of 3 people, so 2 anglers can join Captain John on a charter.
